🧩 What you need before starting
Seeking Salvation is a Fellhollow side quest. Reach Doric in the cave east of the Lake of Lost Souls after opening access through Withering Heights. Bring a steel pickaxe, a light source or Fire Spirit, and enough Air Runes to cast Windstep; food and combat equipment are sensible because the vault contains hostile enemies.
Do not confuse Skekven Kara, the vault used here, with Vekchenven Kara, the separate vault visited during Withering Heights.
Activate the four dragonkin statues
Search the ruin around Doric and activate all four statues. One is outside the cave entrance, two are around the large pillar near Doric, and one is behind the cracked wall to the northwest. Break the cracked wall with the pickaxe, and use your light source where the interaction requires it.
The vault opens only after all four statues are active. If it stays closed, walk the perimeter again and verify every statue has changed state before entering.
Finish the route inside Skekven Kara
Enter the vault and use the central staircase as your landmark. Climb to the second-highest level, face the opening in the south wall and cast Windstep to cross the gap. Interact with the dragonkin statue in that chamber, then return to Doric to finish the quest.
The step is complete when Doric accepts it and the journal records the reward: a Salve Crystal, access to buy more crystals from Death’s Exchange and the Salve Amulet recipe.
If the quest does not advance
- Vault still shut: one of the four exterior statues is not active.
- Cannot reach the inner opening: climb higher on the central stairs and cast Windstep toward the south wall.
- Wrong vault: confirm the journal says Skekven Kara, not Vekchenven Kara.
- Cannot enter Fellhollow: progress Withering Heights far enough to open the region.
What to do after Seeking Salvation
Continue with Zanik’s Goblin Diplomacy route, Dragon Slayer or prepare for boss encounters.
