🐺 Step-by-step check
Keep the map regions open for orientation, use the inventory guide for quest-item space and return to the quest overview when the journal changes objective.
Start with the journal, mark the next destination, and inspect the area for the interactable that matches the quest wording. After each hand-in or interaction, wait for the next objective before following an old marker. A successful step is visible when the journal text changes, a reward is granted, or the quest status advances. If the target is present but cannot be used, verify the required item and party state before retrying.
Concrete Dog Days route
Start with Vannaka in the centre of Stormtouched Highlands and bring two Ram Horns. Approach the wyrm corpse from the north to face fewer enemies; a Garou Thane stands near the lore book facing away. After reading the book, return to Vannaka, then go north to Lougrim’s Shrine and clear the Garou Druids before using the tainted token. Purification consumes 2 Ram Horns and 3 Shock Bulbs. Return to the shrine for the ritual, then take the purified token back to Vannaka.
This route changes the preparation decision: carry the two horns and leave space for the token before travelling, but do not farm Shock Bulbs until the journal has advanced to the purification step. The completion signal is the purified token being handed to Vannaka, not merely reading the book or reaching the shrine.
Use the quest list to diagnose a stuck step
Before travelling again, confirm that Dog Days is active and identify whether the current step is a prerequisite, collection or interaction. A waypoint by itself does not prove that the intended step is active.
For a collection step, leave an inventory slot open and return with the exact item named by the objective. For an interaction step, approach the named NPC or object and wait for the prompt before consuming anything. If the objective does not advance, note its exact wording, check the prerequisites, then retry once after restarting the session. Do not discard a rare item or restart the world before completing those checks.
Preserve the hand-in state
Before a Dog Days hand-in, clear one inventory slot, put unrelated quest items in storage, and read the objective aloud or copy its exact wording. If it asks for a named object, verify the object rather than a similar resource; if it asks for a conversation, finish the dialogue; if it asks for a return, do not follow an old marker after the objective changes.
When the step succeeds, capture the new journal line, reward or next marker. When it fails, test the active quest state, prerequisite, item form, party or world state in that order. This gives the player a recovery path and gives a future bug report enough context to be useful. The route should end only when the quest status advances, not when the player reaches the first destination.
You’re done when
You are done when the hand-in changes the active objective or quest state. If nothing changes, check the prerequisite, exact item form and target interaction before repeating the route.
