🍖 Haunch recipe
Take Raw Game Meat to a Campfire and select Haunch from the cooking list. Current post-0.9.1 references use 1 Raw Game Meat for 1 Haunch. Some older pages still list two pieces of meat because the recipe changed during Early Access.
| Input | Station | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Raw Game Meat | Campfire | 1 Haunch |
If Haunch does not appear, check that the item is Raw Game Meat rather than another meat type and that you are using the current cooking station. The in-game recipe is the deciding value after a patch.
Where Raw Game Meat comes from
Raw Game Meat is an animal drop. Gather it during normal hunting, keep enough inventory room for the meat, and return to a Campfire before a longer expedition. Cooking it into Haunch turns the raw drop into portable sustenance instead of leaving it as an unused ingredient.
When to carry Haunch
Haunch is practical early-route food: cook it before leaving base and keep it with water rather than consuming it during preparation. For a long trip, compare its sustenance value and weight with the other foods currently available in your journal.

Special-material lookup
| Material | Reliable source | Processing or requirement | Why keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dragon Blood | Dragons and Dragon Wolf drops | Tannery, Artisan 40 for Draconic Leather; also used in advanced dragonhide processing | Draconic Leather and high-tier leather chains |
| Bloodwood Sap | Bloodwood Tree, listed as 1 per tree | Used at a Blacksmith’s Bench with Dragon Tooth and 5 Bronze Bars for a Challenge Horn | Dragon Slayer preparation |
| Dragon Tooth | Dragon skull in Stormtouched Highlands with an Iron Pickaxe, or lesser dragon drops | Respawns after 2 in-game days when the area remains clear; Grindstone makes Ground Dragon Tooth | Challenge Horn and dragon-related processing |
| Sapphire | Gold Ore nodes with Mining 16 Gem Prospector | Mine manually with an appropriate pickaxe or use Rocksplosion | Jewellery, bolts and higher-tier equipment |
| Opal | Copper Ore nodes, Tin Ore nodes and Stone Boulders with Mining 16 Gem Prospector | Mine manually with an appropriate pickaxe or use Rocksplosion | Early jewellery, bows and equipment recipes |
Do not treat these as ordinary gathering stock. Dragon Blood, Bloodwood Sap and Dragon Tooth are progression gates; Sapphire and Opal are worth saving because their uses extend across jewellery, equipment and building recipes.
