🌿 Gathering loop

Send materials to the right destination with the farming guide, processing recipes and inventory guide.

Fishing is not one universal table: rod spots produce region-specific fish, and the preferred bait improves the chance of the matching catch. For cooked meals, the cooking range is unlocked at Cooking 16, requires a roof to function, and supports more recipes than a campfire or grill. If the station is missing or silent, check the Cooking level and roof before collecting another batch of raw ingredients.

Pin a water or plant route, gather only enough for the next test recipe, and return before the inventory is full. Process one batch and confirm whether it supports food, farming, healing or utility. Keep a map note for a repeatable source instead of relying on a generic biome label.

Assign gathering materials to a real consumption loop

Farming moves through weeding, sowing, fertilising, watering, curing and harvesting. Cooking turns gathered ingredients into food and drinks that restore sustenance, hydration or health and may provide temporary perks. For fish, check the current source and processing station before filling your inventory.

Use a short loop: gather one herb, fish or plant batch; process it at the named station; consume or store the result; then decide whether another run is justified. Keep seeds, raw ingredients and finished food in separate storage groups. If a recipe is unavailable, identify whether the missing condition is the skill, station, quest or an intermediate product before collecting more raw materials.

Build a consumables reserve

Do not mix the gathering question with the recipe question. First identify whether the target is a raw herb, seed, fish, plant or processed ingredient. Then check the station, fuel, water and skill requirement that turns it into food, drink or a potion. If a crop is missing, check weeding, sowing, fertilising, watering, curing and harvesting in order instead of simply planting more seeds.

Keep three storage groups: unprocessed inputs, active production and finished expedition supplies. Refill water and food before leaving, but do not carry the entire reserve into a dangerous area where death or encumbrance can turn preparation into loss. For a new recipe, process one batch, consume or test one result, and write down the effect and duration shown in the recipe or item description. A gathering route is complete when it produces a useful item and leaves the base ready for the next loop.

Use the row as a travel checklist: the region tells you where to go, the rod or net tells you what to equip, and the bait improves the chance of the named catch. Raw Trout, Raw Salmon and Raw Armoured Catfish also have documented burn thresholds of Cooking 27, 41 and 50 respectively, so do not turn a first fishing trip into a large cooking batch before checking your Cooking level.

When the route is unfamiliar, start from the resource locations map and reverse lookup; when the catch is in hand, use the food, potion and healing guide to choose the cooking loop.

Start from the consumable recipe, then mark the source region so you do not need a second gathering trip.

Use the source table above for the region lookup and the journal for the active potion or cooking recipe. Keep one inventory slot free for the gathered item and process a small batch before farming a full stack.

The gathering loop is ready when

You are ready for the next expedition when raw herbs, fish and crops have been processed into the supplies you need. If something is missing, check the crop stage, water, station, recipe, skill and quest requirements before starting another gathering loop.
